Pratibha Verma (26), a resident of Mira Road worked with Pioneer Products (nail polish manufacturing unit) at Dewan Industrial Estate, Vasai (east), which caught fire at around 6 pm. While the cause of fire could not be ascertained, eye-witnesses said that the woman who ran out of the office when the fire broke out, went in to fetch her mobile phone. She got caught in the flames and died before the fire brigade arrived. Others in the unit escaped to safety after the fire broke out.
The police are awaiting the report stating the cause of fire to determine if a negligence case can be filed.
