Mira Road Youths Launch ‘Litter-Free Roads’ Drive

Mira Road based group – ‘Thirsty Crows’ – comprising young professionals is distributing paper-made litter bags to motorists as part of their ‘litter free roads’ campaign. Joined by on-duty traffic personnel, the members not only distributed recycled disposable paper bags but also spread the ‘Do Not Litter’ messages highlighting the importance of bags in maintaining clean roads near Dahisar check-post on Sunday afternoon.

“Rolling down their car window to chuck-out thrash is a common sight almost everywhere in our country. So, we decided to act as our part of social responsibility. Having a capacity to hold 3.5 kgs of dry waste, the paper bag can be used a mini dust bin till a spotted to discard it.” said Suraj Bhalsingh, a mechanical engineer who took an initiative to form a group comprising young MBAs, gym trainers.
