According to a rough estimate, the main and arterial roads of the Mira Road and Bhayandar are peppered with almost 7,000 potholes, 2,000 more than last year’s statistics as revealed by PWD wing of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC).

“It is true that roads are ridden with potholes and heavy downpour has hampered the speed of repair works. But at most places the contract company deputed for underground sewage pipeline work is to be held responsible. However, our department is committed to ensure that all potholes are fixed before August 25,” assured Executive Engineer Deepak Khambit.

The worst affected areas include Maxus Mall Road, Civic Stadium Road, Navghar Naka, Vimal Dairy Road, Goddev Naka, Indra Lok, Silver Park, Shanti Park, Vijay Park, Jangid Circle, Kanakia Road, Hatkesh Road, Naya Nagar, Srushti and Shanti Nagar.
