St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road organized blood donation and health checkup camp, in association with Lions Club of Dahisar, supported by Lion S P Jain Eye Hospital, Dahisar and Sarala Blood Bank, at St Joseph’s Church, Mira Road, here on Sunday March 15.
Mira Road parish priest and spiritual director of Association Fr Nelson Pinto OCD inaugurated the camp here on Sunday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Pinto said that general people have wrong notion that by giving blood one may die. But this is not the case, by giving blood regularly, we are not only helping others, we help ourselves to regenerate new blood. One should donate blood regularly. The Lenten season is the best season to donate blood and it is also a way of penance. He asked God’s abundant blessings on the donors. He gave call to all to participate generously in the blood donation camp and save lives of sick and suffering.
