What is the issue: Rekha and Rajesh Singh, residents of Shanti Park in Mira Road booked a flat and paid Rs. 1.5 lakh as a booking amount to builder Bhoir. But builder is not signing the sale agreement after taking the flat booking amount from them.
Rekha and Rajesh Singh contacted the Consumer forum.
What forum said: The Thane District Consumer Redressal forum directed builder Bhoir to pay legal and other expenses of Rs. 3 lakh to customer with interest of 9% within 60 days, or at 12% till the amount is paid. But forum refused to order any interest on cash of Rs 1.5 lakh paid by the couple to the builder for booking the flat.
