Additional Sessions Judge, M C Khadke, on Friday rejected the bail application moved by Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation ward officer, Sunil Yadav and NCP corporator, Ashok Tiwari. The duo had landed in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) net while accepting a Rs 1.5 lakh bribe to shelter an illegal construction in Uttan near Bhayandar. The trap followed after the complainant, Mohammed Ashraf Aslam Qureshi, registered a complaint with the Mumbai unit of the ACB, stating that the duo had demanded the bribe in order to refrain from demolition of the illegally constructed bungalows on the Uttan-Dhavgi Road.
